JUDY AND JEFF GREENSTEIN

Judy grew up in New Jersey.  After working in Washington DC as a political campaign consultant, Judy headed to NY where she began her Emmy Award-winning career in broadcast journalism with CBS News. She covered the 1988 Presidential Election, the Oliver North Trial and then was part of the start-up team for 48 HOURS.  From there, Judy moved to Los Angeles where she created the prototype and then served as Vice President of Production for Disney Online, the online division of the Walt Disney Company.  Her passion to help young people during their formative stages has heavily influenced her community activities.  She is currently serving on the JDS Board of Trustees and the Board at Hillel at the University of Washington. During her tenure Judy has served in leadership positions including co-chairing game-changing campaigns for both of these organizations.

Recently, Judy became aware of the plight of millions of women and children who are victims of global sex trafficking.  She was presented with the opportunity to tell that story in a movie – SOLD. Judy expanded her role as Executive Producer to envision, structure and then champion a model that targets an economic and philanthropic return. Although SOLD has been nationally released and received numerous laurels in film festivals around the world, its real success has been achieving its objective of generating awareness, activism and raising funds to combat the devastating problem of sex trafficking. As a result of the film, Judy co-founded Stolen Youth, an organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness to support the rescue and recovery of sexually exploited youth in the Seattle area.

Raised in Portland, Jeff Greensteinwas the co-founder and CEO of Quellos Group, a large global alternative investment management business. Following Quellos’ acquisition by BlackRock, Jeff has focused his energies on a broad array of investments, building businesses and philanthropic activities. Jeff has held long-term leadership positions with organizations such as the University of Washington, UW Medicine, Seattle Art Museum, The Samis Foundation and The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle.

Today Jeff’s community related activities are primarily concentrated with the Greenstein Family Foundation and at a strategic level with a handful of meaningful and aspirational endeavors. Jeff has worked closely with Brothers for Life, an organization committed to empowering injured Israeli soldiers reclaim their lives and continue to serve and inspire the Jewish nation.  At JDS, Jeff helped execute the school’s transformative building capital campaign and most recently he was part of a small group of supporters that paid off JDS mortgage.
